This course is one year programme, entirely free and is designed for students who wish to gain a structured and foundational understanding of Islamic knowledge.

Topics covered

  • Al-Adab wal-Adhkar: good manners and daily remembrances from the Qur'an and Sunnah.
  • Fiqh: the fundamentals of Islamic jurisprudence and acts of worship.
  • Tafseer (last hizb): explanation of the final hizb of the Noble Qur'an.
  • Hadith (Forty Hadith of Nawawi): study and explanation of Imam Nawawi's Forty Hadith.

Language of Instruction:

  • English

Course structure

  • Format: Two courses are taught each semester, completing all four subjects within one year.
  • Class Attendance: Attendance to the classes that are going to be held every Sunday at Beaumont Leys Masjid is required.
  • Schedule:
    • September–February: Sunday, 8:30–10:45 am; two one-hour classes with a 15-minute break.
    • During Ramadan: Sunday from 4:00 pm; two 30–45 minute classes with a short break.
    • March–June: Sunday, 11:00 am–1:15 pm; two one-hour classes with a 15-minute break.

Requirements for Enrolment:

  • Interest in Learning: This course is open to all individuals who are eager to learn about Islam, regardless of their prior knowledge.
  • Commitment: Regular attendance and completion of assignments are required to ensure steady progress.
  • English Proficiency: The course will be conducted in English, so a basic understanding of the language is necessary.
  • Motivation: A strong commitment is essential. Remember, great achievements are not attained through mere wishing but through determination and effort.
  • Brothers aged 12 and above only.
